Founders in Canada can incorporate their company federally with Corporations Canada or provincially within their jurisdiction. Keep in mind: either approach you can still serve customers throughout Canada and abroad.

At the moment, Blinc only offers federal incorporation within the province of Ontario.

What are the main differences?

Federal Incorporation

  • Your name will be registered throughout Canada
  • Takes between 1-5 business days to finalize
  • Government fees are $200 (cheapest)
  • Annual filings are required for $12 per year, which we file for you!
  • Require 25% of company’s directors be Canadian residents

Provincial Incorporation

  • Your name will be registered in Ontario only
  • Takes 1-2 business days to finalize
  • Government fees are $300
  • No director requirement, non-residents can be directors

For tax purposes, there are no differences between the two, you still have to pay federal and provincial taxes in both types of corporations. We offer CPA consultations throughout the year to ensure you’re covered from a tax perspective!
