How do I authorize a representative for my business in Canada?

When you authorize a representative, you are letting them represent you for your corporate tax matters with CRA. With business authorization, your representative can access and update your program accounts, tax information and assessments, making it easier to navigate the world of corporate compliance. Meaning less emails and phone calls and more work getting done quicker.
Here is a step-by-step breakdown:
Step 1) Login to your CRA My Business Account and you will be redirected to the Overview section
Step 2) Once you’re in the Overview section, click on “Profile”
Step 3) Scroll down to the section Authorized representatives, then click “Manage authorized representatives”
Step 4) Once you’re in the authorized representatives page, click on “Authorize a representative”
Step 5) Enter the business number of the company you would like to have authorize as a representative. If you are a Blinc client, then enter our business number (798725826)
Step 6) If done right, you’ll see our Firm BN (business number) and Firm name on the next page. There are three things that need to be done here:
Step 7) Once you’ve confirmed all the information is correct, check the confirmation box and submit!
Step 8) Congratulations! You now have an authorized representative who is allowed to see your account and assist you easier in your corporate compliance journey!
